SEO Writing
I create content for several marketing blogs and Japan-based magazines, focusing on Japanese traditions & history in a modern day context.
Using websites and software such as Ahrefs and Google Trends, I identify the most effective keywords for each piece. I use programs including Gemini to create SEO-focused templates to achieve the highest ranking articles possible.

- “Surviving Kafunsho: How To Beat Hay Fever in Japan,” in Tokyo Weekender (pen name). Using both the Japanese word kafunsho and the English “hay fever,” I targeted residents of Japan and travellers for optimal SEO ranking and hit Google Discover. This article ranked on the top page of Google in its first week, with over 10,000 views.
- “Concerts Coming to Japan in 2025,” in Tokyo Weekender. This article ranked on top page of Google for the keyword “concerts Tokyo” for over two months, and made the Google Discover page. Across its first month, this article achieved over 30,000 views.
- “Hina Matsuri: A Guide to the Japanese Doll Festival,” in Tokyo Weekender. Each heading is tailored towards a variety of long- and short-tailed keywords.
- “Amazing Okinawan Kokuto,” in Tokyo Treat. Top-ranking page for “Okinawa black sugar” and “kokuto” on Google. Using research gained from Japanese-language sites, I included information previously unavailable in English.
